IELTS: more choice, more opportunities, endless possibilities

IELTS, the world’s most recognised English language proficiency test, is accepted by more than 10,000 organisations worldwide, including universities, employers, professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies.

Composed of four sections, testing your skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking, IELTS gives test takers the confidence in their ability to hold conversations in English, as well as being able to live, work and study in a new environment.

IELTS is offered in more than 140 countries and gives test takers the choice of taking their test either in a traditional paper-based format, or as a computer- delivered option, with results available in as little as three days.

Andrew Mackenzie, Head of IELTS at British Council, said: “Taking IELTS supports a test taker in following their dreams, whether that’s studying abroad, or taking a coveted job and moving to a new country.

“The choice in the format of the test, means test takers are in control of their study and have the best chance at securing their desired score.

“IELTS isn’t just a number, it’s about the endless possibilities that follow achieving your score. It offers opportunity and access to the entire world.”

To celebrate the choices available to test takers and to educate people on the support available to achieve their best score, IELTS has launched a new social media campaign, “Choose your way with IELTS”.
